Equipping the Region’s Largest Pulp Mill

JJ-Lapp Cable Solutions Manufacturing Indonesia (JJLSMI) continues on its strong growth path, securing a major order from its business partner PT Valveindo Teknik Pratama in the second quarter of 2015. Through the project, JJLSMI will participate in the construction of what is expected to be the largest pulp mill in South East Asia.

Asia Pulp & Paper's (APP) parent company, Sinarmas Group, has six business pillars, one of which is pulp and paper. Through its subsidiary, PT OKI Pulp & Paper Mills, APP has announced plans to build new pulp mills in Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI), South Sumatra. The OKI mill will have a projected annual capacity of two million tonnes of pulp and 500,000 tonnes of tissue. It is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2016.

Having been awarded the project, JJLSMI will provide instruments, control and power cables valued at approximately US$5 million. The cables alone will total about 1,700km – long enough to run the entire length of Sumatra island!

JJLSMI's extensive line of cables is designed for complete reliability even in extreme conditions during water treatment and gasification processes and in the application of data control systems. The deliveries will start in July 2015.

With this project adding to its track record in Indonesia, JJLSMI is confident of further business cooperation with Valveindo. The partner is known to work closely with Pertamina, Chevron, Conoco Phillips, Total, Medco, and many other key players in the oil and gas as well as pulp and paper industries.
