DHL has announced that the Asia Pacific Solutions & Innovation Center (ASIC), its first innovation centre outside Germany, will be based in Singapore. ASIC will be the first Centre of Excellence for innovative logistics services and solutions in the region and home to the world's first Centre of Excellence for Automation.
JJ-Lapp Cable Singapore has successfully won the project to supply over 40km of power and control cables to DHL Supply Chain for ASIC to be used in complex multi-sector and multi-user operations as well as cutting-edge automation such as automated storage, order picking and packing systems. The automation technology will reduce the time required to pick, pack and ship items, enabling faster order fulfillments, which fits well with Singapore's aspirations to become a leader in supply chain applications and innovations.
George Tan, Assistant Sales Manager of JJ-Lapp Cable Singapore said: "We take pride in representing the finest German cable technology and tailoring this to the market needs of ASEAN at our factory in Indonesia. Our commitment to enriching the supply chain ecosystem with innovative solutions has earned us a solid reputation. We are elated to add this project to our growing track record in the region."
